Membrane Characterisation

Understanding the various Membrane Characterisation parameters such as pore size, pore size distribution, membrane charge, surface roughness and solute or particle rejection characteristics are important when trying to understand the factors impacting membrane performance. Characterisation also forms an important aspect of performing membrane autopsy and cleaning studies.

Our laboratory facilities at Membrane Works are able to conduct an extensive range of analysis which we are able to compare with our database of membrane materials and provide insights in to the performance and beahaviour of your membrane.

Membrane charaterisation techniques

  • Scanning Electron Microscopy
  • Atomic Force Microscopy
  • Porometery
  • Contact Angle
  • Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR)
  • Tensile Testing
  • Flux, Rejection or Selectivity Testing
  • Zeta Potential

Other testing procedures also available, give us a call to discuss your exact needs.
