Aluminium Chlorohydrate (ACH) is an important coagulant in both membrane and conventional water treatment systems. ACH is particularly effective in removing turbidity, suspended solids, organic matter, and microbial contaminants, and thus improving the quality and safety of potable water.

ACH is commonly used in direct coagulation applications using UF membranes where other coagulants risk fouling the membrane.
